Once the clutch is mastered the stick aspect of driving a vehicle is fairly easy to learn. The first step is to push the clutch in then put the vehicle in first gear. Once the vehicle is in gear then give the accelerator a small push to rev the engine. While the engine is reved let go of the clutch slowly until the gear grabs then push the accelerator more until you hit about 3,000 RPMs (varies with the type of car) and repeat the process to shift into second gear. This process is repeated to shift until the car reaches a gear that it can run at or below 3,000 RPMs. Once at a good speed it is like driving a normal car, just using the accelerator and brake.
This same process is done to decelerate but it is opposite for the driver. The driver must shift down gears until to the required speed that the vehicles can run at or below 3,000 RPMs. With these simple steps anyone can learn to drive stick today. All you need is a stick vehicle and an open road.
